Worked as a Registered Nurse from 2009 to 2020 when the pandemic hit. 2020 to 2023 worked for WAMY Community Action Cares as Covid Assistance Coordinator responsible for administering the Cares Act funding in Watauga, Avery, Mitchell and Yancey counties as well as additional grants to help low income individuals. Volunteer activities include Vice President of the Blue Ridge Resource Conservation and Development, Vice Chair of the AMY Wellness Foundation and Executive Director for Toe River Valley Watch developing the Overmountain Victory Trail in Mitchell County and now helping to develop the trail in all eleven counties it traverses.
