Retired Marine officer with over 15 years of active service in a 31 year active/reserve hybrid career, including three post 9/11 mobilizations.

Our school system’s 1100 employees and 14 schools serve 6000 students and their families.
McDowell County is a beautiful part of the world, located along the I-40 corridor west of Morganton and east of Asheville in the foothills of the Blue Ridge. There are some breathtaking views of Mount Mitchell (highest peak east of the Mississippi) and other ridge lines to the north and west. We also enjoy the natural beauty of Lake James and Lake Tahoma in McDowell, and Lake Lure to the south in Rutherford County.
